CIEC works to improve the quality of science education, particularly investigative skills, and encourages schools and industry to work in partnership to this end.
Children Challenging Industry
The Children Challenging Industry project is a well-established training initiative offering primary teachers in the north of England continuing professional development that includes initiation of structured links with local industry. Research evidence of the impact of the project indicates a raising of the level of achievement in science at the schools involved.
A number of CIEC staff are involved with delivering training through the National and Regional Science Learning Centres.
